The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards are history. Sunday’s telecast of the ceremony was ho-hum — in fact, some of the jokes and failed gags were down right painful to watch, so the writers responsible should hope they are forgotten real quick. Favorite moments: Julianne Moore picking up best actress in a miniseries for her performance as Sarah Palin in “Game Change” and saying: “Wow. I feel so validated because Sarah Palin gave me a big thumbs down.” “Game Change” was about the 2008 Republican presidential campaign.
Also, the huge standing ovation for actor Michael J. Fox who appeared on stage to read the nominees and announce the Emmy winner for outstanding comedy series. “Modern Family” won the award for the third straight year. Oh, and ya gotta give some props and all that to “Homeland,” which pulled off an upset and took home the best drama series trophy. The first year political drama series beat out “Mad Men,” which has won the award for the past four years. For a list of all the winners go here.
Nice recap of the Emmys on deadline.com and a super look back at some of the fabulous Emmy gowns on hautegoodgirl.com . I just loved actress Julie Bowen’s yellow Monique Lhuillier gown (not shown in the photo below, but is in the hautegoodgirl.com post.
