It took author Jane Porter 15 years to sell her first book. Now, she’s living a writer’s dream. Porter has more than four million books in print. She writes classic romance and modern literature. One of her popular novels, “Flirting with Forty”, has been made into a Lifetime movie set to premiere on December 6. The film stars Heather Locklear and Robert Buckley.
Porter grew up in Central California, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from UCLA and a Master’s from the University of San Francisco. An attractive, divorced, forty-something mother with two boys, she lives in a Washington State suburb. After having more than a dozen manuscripts rejected, Porter sold her first book in January of 2000. Since then the former teacher has written and sold over 30 novels.
“Flirting with Forty” is about a suddenly divorced mother of two, who is about to hit the big four-oh and finds love with a younger man while on vacation in Hawaii. The novel has gone through seven printings since coming out in 2006. Porter’s website has more on the novel and the movie, including some nice photos shot on the film set.
