The Burbank City Council made a decision on sidewalks for North Screenland Drive last night. Despite passionate arguments to from a small group of residents, Councilman, Bob Frutos, and Vice-Mayor, David Gordon; the majority voted for the construction of the sidewalks.
For the record: Mayor Emily Gabel-Luddy, Councilmen Gary Bric and Jess Talamantes voted “yes” on the sidewalk project. Vice-Mayor Dr. Gordon and Councilman Frutos voted “no.”
Sidewalks are not a bad thing, but the way city officials have handled this long-delayed controversial project and disrespected the residents in the 1900 block of North Screenland Drive is not city government at its best. More to come on this.
