Someone in the Southland is holding a $2 Powerball ticket worth over half a billion dollars! That ticket won the $515 million jackpot in last night’s draw. It would take several suitcases to hold all that loot. The ticket was the only one to have all six of the winning numbers. They are: 7, 11, 21, 53, 61, and the Powerball 2. The California Lottery says the ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven, located at 763 Euclid Street, in Anaheim. The retailer reportedly gets $1 million for selling that winning jackpot ticket.
The winner is currently unknown. The ticketholder has one year from the date of the draw to come forward and collect the winnings. They can choose to receive the jackpot prize in a lump sum or installments. Powerball draws are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The next one is tomorrow, March 31. The new jackpot starts at $20 million.
By the way, March has been a hot month for Powerball winners in the Golden State. Last week, a player up in Northern California bought a ticket with five of the winning numbers for the Wednesday, March 26, draw. That ticket is worth $5,717,713.
