“Tangled” wrangled the top spot at the Box Office away from Harry Potter over the weekend. In its second week, “Tangled,” claimed the number one slot with a haul of $21.6 million, according to the final figures released today.
“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1” dropped to second place with $17 million. In third week, the 7th installment in the epic fantasy film series has conjured up $244.5 million at the domestic Box Office.
The musical, “Burlesque,” stirred up enough interest for third with $6.1 million. The action thriller “Unstoppable,” is still rolling along in theaters and collected $5.9 million — for a four week total of $68.7 million.
And in fifth place, the comedy/drama, “Love and Other Drugs,” with $5.6 million. The R-rated film centers on a romance between a traveling pharmaceutical salesman and a woman battling the onset of Parkinson’s disease. It’s based on the book, “Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman,” by Jamie Reidy. The movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway.
