The Burbank Channel was honored at the 68th Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards bash over the weekend. The channel is owned by the City f Burbank. Last Saturday, it was recognized with an Emmy in the information category for a video called, “Drawing Power of Burbank.” The ceremony was held at the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center in North Hollywood.
The State of the City video from 2015, focused on a number of topics including economic development, tourism, downtown businesses, and the impact of the Warner Bros. Studios on the region. The 15-minute video, created by the City’s public information office, was narrated by city council member, Bob Frutos, who was mayor last year.
In a news release, Frutos praised city staffers: “When I shared my vision for the State of the City video with our PIO team, I wasn’t sure how they would pull it off. I’m happy to say, not only did they exceed my expectations, their work has now been recognized
alongside some of the most prestigious TV stations in the nation’s second largest television market.”
The Burbank Channel can be viewed on Charter Spectrum on Channel 6 in Burbank, Channel 16 in Glendale, and Channel 99 on AT&T U-verse. Also, live streaming of the channel is available on the City’s website burbankca.gov
