Media City Groove photographer, Greg Reyna, shares his recent travel adventure to New Orleans with girlfriend Tina McDermott. Both are Burbankers who enjoy traveling.
“The pictures … include the little house we rented, and the Chickie Wah-Wah club, where we saw an excellent band, Papa Mali, do a 3-hour CD release show. As the week went on there was lots of great food and more music, and a street fair on Saturday with some performers in full costume.
On Easter Sunday we went to Saint Augustine Catholic Church for an hour of their morning service. The cross made of chain is outside the side entrance. First time either of us has been in a church in a long time.
That afternoon there was a ‘second line’ parade, with two bands playing and hundreds of people marching through the streets of uptown. Loads of fun! We even had a personal bartender who pushed his huge beer & ice-filled cooler along with the crowd near us. We stayed close to the bands.”
