Life You Want Weekend” will feature Oprah Winfrey and special guests in 8 city arenas: San Jose, California, Miami, Florida, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Georgia, Newark, New Jersey, Auburn Hills, Michigan, Houston, Texas, and Seattle, Washington. So far, the Southland is not on the fall tour.

Theater crowds are down, but box office revenues are up, according to the latest report from the Motion Picture Association of America. As movie lovers know, the reason for this is because they’ve jacked up ticket prices.
In the past decade, the average price of a movie ticket has jumped to $8.13, according to Businessweek. Here in the Southland, ticket prices are well over $10 a piece. That’s why only the most dedicated movie fans are filling those theater seats — the rest just wait until films hit video, T.V. or the Internet. More here.
Disney’s “Young Merlin” project is moving ahead with screenwriters, Patrick Massett and John Zinman, who wrote “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” (2001). “Life of Pia” producer, Gil Netter, is on board. The film will be adapted from “The Lost Years of Merlin,” the YA book series, written by T.A. Barron. The series focuses on the younger years and the training of the great magician Merlin.
