Burbank Police and Fire investigators today are working to determine the cause of an apartment fire which apparently killed a woman. It happened in the 200 block of East Alameda Avenue yesterday. Both Burbank Police and Fire responded to the initial call of a medical emergency shortly after 5 p.m.
The first on the scene, a Burbank PD officer, reportedly discovered the body of a 57 year-old resident. “The female appeared to have died as the result of a small fire contained within the apartment. The fire appeared to have burned itself out prior to the arrival of the police and fire personnel,”according to a Burbank PD news release.
At this point, police are not releasing the name of the victim. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of the woman’s death.
