Progress report: New parking lot in Burbank’s Magnolia Park

Construction is moving right along on that new public parking lot in Magnolia Park. Since my visit last month, the lot on Magnolia Boulevard between Maple and Kenwood Streets has been paved. Protesters returned to the Hobby Lobby in Burbank yesterday to spread their message.  The protesters are upset because Hobby Lobby won the right to opt out of providing certain female contraceptives in its employee health insurance plan for religious reasons. Dueling demonstrations at Burbank Hobby Lobby

The new Hobby Lobby in Burbank was the scene of not one but two demonstrations late yesterday. Glendale authorities asking for help in finding arson suspects

Glendale authorities are asking for help in finding three arson suspects in connection with that brush fire above Brand Library last month. The fire broke out at around 12:30 p.m. on June 22 and scorched 150 acres of mountain terrain. DreamWorks Animation linked to wage-fixing conspiracy scandal

DreamWorks Animation, one of the major players in the local entertainment industry, has been linked to a wage-fixing conspiracy, according to a post on NikkiFinke.com.
