Burbank and the rest of the Southland is getting pounded today by much-anticipated winter storm slow rolling through our region. The strong system moved in overnight and is expected to linger through tomorrow bringing at least 2-to-4 inches in Los Angeles area and 4-to-7 inches in the valleys and Inland Empire.
Along with tons of rain, this huge storm is packing fierce winds, whipping of high surf, and might even produce small hail , tornadoes, and waterspouts. Also, watch out for downed trees and fallen power lines. Accidents as well as intersection and road flooding being reported on streets and highways; drive with care.
In the foothill communities, the concern grows for flooding and mudslides, especially in last month’s Colby-fire burn areas. Mandatory evacuations in effect in several neighborhoods of Azusa and Glendora in the San Gabriel Valley.
Meanwhile, the high in B-town expected to reach only about 61. Bundle up and hold onto your new best friend — the umbrella.
