There are reportedly more than 60,000 pizzerias in the country.
The most popular independent pizza joint in the U.S. — Moose’s Tooth Pub and Pizzeria in Anchorage , Alaska with annual sales at around $6 million. About 3 billion pizzas are sold in the U.S. each year. The five days with the biggest pizza sales: The night before Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Super Bowl Sunday and Halloween.
In honor of the month-long celebration, the world leader in pizza delivery, Domino’s, is offering a large two-topping pizza carryout special for $5.99 through October 5. That’s really cheap — even for a budget pizza place like Domino’s. There are probably other pizza bargains out there this month — so go ahead — have an extra slice or two or the whole pie!
My favorite place for pizza right now is Tony’s Bella Vista 3116 West Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank. I just love their pepperoni, onions, bell peppers, black olives and basil pizza. Thin or thick crust. Doesn’t matter. It’s all good.
