The second presidential debate of 2016 has the potential to be more interesting and an even bigger test for embattled GOP nominee, Donald Trump. A lot of drama and surprises since the first face-off between the candidates last month. It is widely believed, Clinton trounced Trump in that first debate. Now, many see the second debate as an opportunity for Clinton to score a knockout.
It’s been a tough week for Trump. Last Monday, during the one and only V.P. debate, GOP running mate, Mike Pence, got praise for his performance. In fact, Republicans reportedly are high on Pence for a possible run for president in 2020. Shockingly, Pence made little effort to defend his controversial running mate, instead spent most of his debate time pushing safe Republican positions. Later in the week, when that tape came out of Trump making crude comments about women to “Acesss Hollywood,” Pence refused to defend him saying, in a statement yesterday, he was “offended by the words and actions” of the billionaire real estate developer.
Now, hours before the second debate, more tapes and reports of Trump making tacky sexual comments about females, even his own daughter, Ivanka. The pressure is really on “The Donald” tonight.
The debate will be at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. The format is a town hall meeting with the audience made up of undecided voters. Some of the questions reportedly will come from the audience others from the moderators. Martha Raddatz of ABC, and Anderson Cooper of CNN will be the moderators. This crucial second debate begins tonight at 6 p.m. Pacific Time.
