The 2024 World Series-winning Los Angeles Dodgers and their fans are probably still on cloud nine after the November first rousing victory parade and rally. In Downtown Los Angeles, a crowd estimated at over 200,000 watched and cheered seven open top double deck buses filled with Dodger players, their families, coaching staff, and front office types like team co-owner basketball legend/entrepreneur Magic Johnson.

Then, it was onto Dodger Stadium for a championship rally before more than 40 thousand cheering fans. There were many emotional speeches, one of the most memorable being from superstar Shohei Ohtani, who spoke publicly in English for the first time.

Many were partying hard to make up for 2020 when the Dodgers beat the Tampa Bay Rays in six games to win the World Series. However, because of the COVID pandemic, there was no victory parade to celebrate with the hometown fans. This time, the Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees in five hard-fought games.
The Dodgers appeared to have the momentum after winning the first three games in the series. But the Yankees came back to win game 4. That turned out to be a temporary pause in the Dodgers trek to victory. In game five, the Dodgers were down 5-to-zip but took advantage of some Yankee errors and missteps to win game 5, 7-to-6. Freddie Freeman took home the much deserved MVP trophy.
The Dodger first baseman became the first to hit home runs in the series’ first four games. In the first game, he hit a historic 10-inning grand slam to help the Dodgers get off to a 1-to-zip lead in the series. He did it all while recovering from a right ankle injury.
