A date and place for the royal wedding of Prince William and his bride-to-be, Kate Middleton, have been selected. It’s Friday April 29, 2011 at the historic Westminster Abbey.
The announcement was posted today on the official website of the British Monarchy and on website of The Prince of Wales, Prince Charles. The latter is really a family site for Prince Charles, his sons, William and Harry, and wife, Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall.
Also, on The Prince of Wales site, video interviews with Prince William and Kate Middleton as well as more royal wedding details from Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Private Secretary to Prince William and Prince Harry. Some of the details from Pinkerton include why the Abbey was chosen and who will pay for the wedding — interestingly, the Middleton family plans to share in the cost.
The wedding is going to be a huge event. Pinkerton acknowledged this by saying,”… we know that the world will be watching on the 29th April 2011 and the couple are very keen that the spectacle should be a classic example of what Britain does best.” No doubt, millions on this side of the pond will be watching.
