Fans of the late comic icon Joan Rivers are snatching up her books. Rivers latest, “Diary of a Mad Diva” jumped from 1, 416 to number 2 on Amazon’s best sellers list since her untimely passing yesterday. Rivers died in a New York hospital surrounded by family and close friends. A week earlier, Rivers was rushed to the hospital after developing complications during a medical procedure at an outpatient clinic.
“Diary of a Mad Diva,” which debuted this summer, is holding down the #3 spot on Barnes and Nobles Top 100. Rivers has written 12 books and many of them are also flying off the book shelves.
Oprah Winfrey’s new book shares some of her life lessons. “What I Know For Sure” is a collection of essays from a column in O, The Oprah Magazine. The book version published last Tuesday.
Rocker Bruce Springsteen has written a children’s book called, “Outlaw Pete.” The book is based on a song “Outlaw Pete” from his 1979 album “Working on a Dream.” The book will include a “soundtrack of original songs” by The Boss, according to Galleycat. It’s due out this November from Simon & Schuster.
