Today is the last day to vote in the November 5 General Election. The national, state, and county measures and candidates are getting most of the attention and campaign ads. However, some local Burbank candidates and a major Burbank Unified School District measure are also on the ballot.
Two seats are open on the Burbank City Council. Nine candidates are in the race. They are Hovanes Tonoyan, cybersecurity expert; incumbent Konstantine Anthony; Chris Rizzotti, real estate broker; Emma Pineiro, resident; John Parr writer/comedian; Eddy Polon, baker; Mike Van Gorder, housing policy analyst; Patricia “Trish” Suarez Nacion, resident, and retired City of Burbank administrator, Judie Wilke.
Burbank School Board candidates: Area One, Laurette Cano, teacher; Thomas G. Crowther, educator/school Administrator; Area Two incumbent Emily Weisberg is running unopposed; and in Area Five, Incumbent Armond Aghakhanian is running against labor lawyer Annie Markarian.
