Put your thinking caps on? A contest is underway to find a creative mascot for the Burbank libraries. They are looking for a colorful costumed character who will “… champion reading and literacy in the community,” according to a news release.
You don’t have much time to come up with an original sketch, drawing or digital image for the Mascot Design Contest. The submissions are due by 5 p.m. next Friday March 21, 2014 at any of the three Burbank libraries. A prize will be awarded to the winner at the unveiling ceremony set for set for May 22, 2014.
The Burbank Neighborhood Leadership Program, a community development and leadership organization, is sponsoring the contest. Also, the BNLP is hosting a fundraising night at California Pizza Kitchen 601 N. San Fernando Blvd. in the Media City, Wednesday March 19, 2014 to support the mascot design project. Drop by the restaurant on that night, mention the mascot contest to one of the BNLP volunteers, and 20% of your bill, including dine-in, take-out, catering, and beverages, will be donated to support the project.
