It is a so-called political season in an election year.
I’m not trying to talk about the election and politics as I don’t know much about them.
There is a common saying that small businesses like mine fall into a slump in an election year. Well, how could I, a simple cleaner, know why people say so?
Later this year, a presidential election will be held not just in America, but also in South Korea where I used to live.
Thus, news and stories about politics and elections are prevalent and unavoidable for me.
Then, I came across an interesting opinion. It says that “all politicians think that everything goes around them as a center.”
It sounds very interesting to me. However, do you think that only politicians think and act with that perspective? I don’t think so.
Everywhere and among the people who we happen to meet in everyday life, we may easily come across those who think that “only they are right” and those who don’t do the courtesy of trying to consider others at all.
I’m not trying to talk about things only serious or political, but small and ordinary things in everyday life like the behavior and common sense shown at the counter of my cleaners.
The fall season is setting in.
I hope that this fall, all of us will be able to listen to our neighbors’ voices in addition to ours and further the sound of nature and human discourse.
