I wanted to take a quick break from knocking on doors to wish all the moms out there Happy Mother’s Day for tomorrow.
Even after passing, my mother continues to be an inspiration to me. She had a fire for justice within her that led her to leave the South at the age of 17 and then went on to raise three daughters while working two jobs. She should be a saint because we were a handful.
I still take her lessons of kindness, hard work, and helping those less fortunate to heart. As a mom, I have used those values to raise my three sons. As your next state senator, I will lead with those values as well.
This weekend, I hope you take the time to celebrate the love and contributions of moms throughout our communities.
