Burbank officials are recommending residents stay in doors during the heat wave. Temperatures in Burbank reached the low 90s yesterday. A high of 95 is expected today. The forecast is for hot temps to linger into the weekend.
In a news release from City Hall residents “… are encouraged to seek relief from the heat by drinking plenty of fluids, wearing loose-fitting clothing, and most importantly, staying indoors.” The release included a warning: “These (high) temperatures may result in heat related illnesses and heightened fire danger.”
Three Burbank public libraries: Buena Vista Library at 300 North Buena Vista Street, Burbank Central Library at 110 North Glenoaks Boulevard, and Northwest Branch Library at 3323 est . Victory Blvd have been designated as cooling centers for folks to escape the heat. Also, you can visit cool shelters like the Burbank Town Center Mall, local movie theaters, and any other places with “temperature controlled environments.”
