Two protesters, dressed as Minnie and Mickey Mouse, chained themselves to a gate at the Walt Disney Studios today, according to the Los Angeles Times. The costumed activists reportedly were protesting because of a fiber in Disney’s children’s books, which they say is from endangered Indonesian rain forests.

A short while ago, Burbank Police sent out a press release about the incident saying four demonstrators were arrested at Disney this morning. The cops arrived at the entertainment company on south Buena Vista Boulevard around 7 a.m. The police along with Disney security arrested “two individuals dressed in Disney character costumes” who had chained themselves to the front gate. Alsotaken into custody, two other protesters who had allegedly “… climbed onto the Walt Disney sign … with a large banner referencing the Indonesian rain forest.”
The suspects are:
- Jennifer Binstock —– 29 -year old female from San Francisco
- Christopher Toomey 52-year old male from Redondo Beach
- Blake Hodges —– 26-year old male from Irvine
- Alexia Dickason —– 27-year old female from Los Angeles
All four were booked for trespassing with bail set at $1,000 each.
