You know it’s going to be a sizzler when the temperature reaches 85 before 11 a.m. Well, that’s the case in Burbank today. A heat wave is building and it’s effecting much of the Southwest and including the Southland. No relief is expected until sometime next week.
The national weather service has issue an excessive heat warning for the San Fernando Valley. The warning comes with this advisory: “This extended period of hot conditions will result in an increased risk of heat related illness. Take the needed precautions now in anticipation of this heat event. In addition.. with very dry vegetation… fire danger also will be on the rise. Be extra cautious with outdoor activities that may result in fire ignitions.”
The predicted high in the Media City today — mid-90s, butdon’t be surprised if we hit triple digits.
