The Los Angeles Sparks open training camp tomorrow, April 28. Lexie Brown, Rae Burrell, Zia Cooke, Layshia Clarendon, Nia Clouden, Dearica Hamby, and Azurá Stevens are returning to the Sparks this season. Also, suiting up in the purple and gold are new additions: Julie Allemand, Monique Billings, Aari McDonald, Kia Nurse, Li Yueru, Blake Dietrick, Virag Kiss, and Taylor Mikesell.
For the first time, the training team roster includes WNBA 2024 draftees No. 2 pick Cameron Brink (Stanford University), No. 4 pick Rickea Jackson (University of Tennessee), and No. 28 pick McKenzie Forbes (University of Southern California).
We are excited about the addition of Cameron, Rickea, and McKenzie,” said head coach Curt Miller in a news release.” “As we evaluated players during their games and practices in-person, studied their film and analytics, and spent time getting to know each of them individually and the people around them, we identified players we had confidence would be additive to our vision and culture here in LA. We looked for those that had the skill, discipline, conviction, and resiliency to help us build towards a WNBA Championship. We are fired up for our upcoming training camp and working with our outstanding draft class as well as the rest of the team.”
It was nice to meet the new trio for the LA Sparks! I know that they are going to create their own magic and lead the Sparks back to being a championship contending team! https://t.co/KonsSRLksx
