Two suspects are due in court today, while three others are still being sought in connection with a burglary at Wooden Camera 923 West Olive Avenue. Apparently, a sharp-eyed Burbank Police officer spotted a “suspicious truck” in front of the cinema accessory business early last Tuesday around 3:40 a.m. “The officer saw several people run from the business to the van. He made a u-turn to get a better look at the van and people, but the van hastily drove away without its headlights on,” according to a BPD news release.
The officer gave chase. The van traveled east onto the Olive overpass and got onto the northbound five freeway. During the pursuit, the suspects reportedly lobbed “property from the van onto the roadway.” Property that turned to be some of the camera equipment stolen from Wooden Camera.

The van exited the freeway at Van Nuys Boulevard where the BPD says it “struck a concrete center median and eventually came to a stop in the Walgreens parking lot located at Van Nuys Boulevard and Woodman Avenue. Five suspects fled the scene on foot. Two were immediately captured without incident. ”
The suspects are identified as 38 year- old Angel Cortes and 29 year- old Rolando Alcides Flores of Canoga Park . Cortes was booked for commercial burglary, felony evading and obstructing a police officer. His bail was set at $75,000. Flores was booked for commercial burglary and obstructing a police officer. His bail is $20,000. The three outstanding suspects are described only as two males and a female.
Inside the suspects’ van police found camera equipment and burglary tools. The value of the stolen items has been put at $50,000. Police say “it appears all the stolen equipment has been recovered from the roadway, freeway and van.”
