It’s going to be seriously hot in the Media City today. The temperatures have been climbing for the past several days. The high yesterday reached 99 degrees. Today the temperature is expected to soar into the triple digits. At 9:30 this morning it was already in the mid-80s.

An excessive heat warning is in effect today through 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 16 for the San Fernando Valley and other areas of the Southland. The advisory warns of “dangerously hot weather” for the next few days. Residents should take precautions to avoid prolong periods in the sun to avoid heat exhaustion and even heat stroke. Drink lots of water and try to stay in cool and shady places.

The Burbank city website suggests folks hang out in our air-conditioned libraries. Details here.
