For the first time in over 50 years, the legendary Barbra Streisand will appear on the “Tonight Show.” Streisand is scheduled to sit down with “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon on Monday, September 15. The day before the singer’s new album “Partners” drops. The album is a collection of duets with famous male vocalists like Lionel Richie, Billy Joel, Michael Bublé , Blake Shelton, Babyface, Stevie Wonder, and John Mayer.
A lot of chatter on the Internet about the possible sell of the Los Angeles Daily News. The parent company, Digital First Media, is the second largest publisher of newspapers in the county. Today, DFM posted a news release on its website about intentions to consider ” strategic alternatives ,” which include the sale of the company or some of its newspapers or other media. The DFM portfolio includes 160 weekly publications and 76 daily/Sunday newspapers. Besides the Daily News, they own Southland papers like the Pasadena Star-News, Whittier Daily News, and the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
A Long Beach man is on a winning roll in the Fantasy 5 lottery game. Greg Kent, 51, won $210, 820 in Monday’s draw by matching all five numbers. Kent has had good lucky with this lottery game: “I’ve won $350 to $500 more times than I can remember,” Kent told lottery officials. Kent plans to use his latest winnings to pay off debts and “sock a lot of it away” for a rainy day. Oh, and one more thing, he will probably buy “… some new shoes.” The winning digits: 6, 15, 19, 33, and 27.
