Burbank Police believe they have cracked the case of that high-profile burglary at the LA Sports Cards store in the Media City. The early morning crime last month resulted in the theft of approximately $100,000 in collectible merchandise. The loot reportedly included Pokémon trading card products, rare sports cards, and other valuable collectibles.
The break-in occurred on December 2, around 2 a.m. at 1922 West Olive Ave. When police arrived, they discovered evidence of forced entry of the business, and the interior was ransacked. The suspects had fled the scene. Burbank Police Detectives launched an investigation that involved “reviewing surveillance footage and utilizing investigative technology to identify those responsible for the burglary,” according to a Burbank Police news release.
As a result, search warrants were served at four locations on December 18, 2025, and January 8, 2026. Evidence was reportedly discovered linking four suspects to the commercial burglary. The suspects were arrested and booked for burglary. They have been identified as Brian Chavez, 22, of Los Angeles; Jeremy Lopez, 22, of Los Angeles; Marco Barrongil, 26, of North Hollywood; and Elijah Garcia, 27, of Compton.
Formal charges are expected to be filed against the suspects by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
