Fans and air conditioners were working overtime today as a heat wave sent temperatures soaring in the Southland. Here in Burbank, the high today — 99. At 9 p.m tonight — it was 82. Tomorrow is expected to be even hotter . The good news, cooler temps are expected to arrive by the weekend.
