Firefighters are getting the upper hand today on that brush fire burning in the hills of Glendale. The fire broke out last Sunday and has scorched around 150 acres above Brand Park. No structures or homes have been damaged. The blaze is now 60 percent contained. No word yet on the cause.
There are reportedly around 200 fire personnel on the scene. The lower area of Brand Park and the on site library will open up at noon today, according to the Glendale Fire Department website. The Brand Park hiking trails will remain closed until Friday, June 27.
