The Burbank Police Department has received reports of scam calls using phone number spoofing to make it appear as though the calls are coming from official BPD phone numbers, including our non-emergency line.

Here’s what you should know:

Scammers may:

• Make caller ID display an official BPD phone number
• Claim you have an outstanding warrant or face criminal charges
• Demand immediate payment through gift cards, money orders, or other methods to avoid arrest

Remember: BPD will NEVER call and demand payment for a warrant, fine, or criminal charge using gift cards or money orders.

If you receive a suspicious call:

• Hang up. Do not engage with the caller
• Never provide personal or financial information to an unknown caller
• If you are unsure whether a call is legitimate, contact BPD directly using one of our published phone numbers
