Wow! At noon today, the temperature hit 100 in Burbank and the mercury will probably climb even higher this afternoon. A Southland heat wave kicked off earlier in the week and it’s expected to peak today and tomorrow. The national weather service has issued an excessive heat warning until 8 p.m. tomorrow for Burbank and most of the Los Angeles region, except for coastal areas. Take extra precautions with children and the elderly. Also, cranking up all those air conditioners will cause a surge in electrical use increasing the threat of power outages.
Not much relief tonight in B-town, lows only in the 70s. Stay cool.
