The new Magnolia Park parking lot is attracting business. This morning before 11 a.m., I checked the lot and between 15-24 vehicles were parked there A number of spaces were vacant, too. After numerous delays, the lot between Maple and Kenwood Streets on Magnolia Boulevard, opened the middle of last month. The new public lot will ease the street parking crunch in that area — but help is still needed near other busy sections of Magnolia Boulevard.
Where’s the next new parking lot going to be? Why not at the site of the old Wilsons Leather Outlet at 3117 West Magnolia Boulevard. There’s already a parking lot on the site. The city could buy the parcel, tear down the building, and expand the parking lot.
