Southland/Record Temps—

More scorching temperatures are expected in the Southland today. For the past several days, a blistering March heat wave has produced off-the-charts temperatures throughout SoCal. The Media City broke records, along with several other local cities. Here are some of the record breakers over the past few days from the National Weather Service via Twitter/X.

Downtown Los Angeles High 98 degrees, previous record 94 March 17, 1914

Woodland Hills High 100 degrees, previous record 92 March 18, 1997

Lancaster High 93 degrees, previous record 87 March 19, 2004
By early this afternoon, Burbank simmered at 95 degrees. Weather forecasters are calling for a break in the heat wave over the coming weekend. Temperatures are expected to drop a few degrees on Saturday and Sunday, but they will not be very springlike. More here.
