Another major story rocks the Southland sports scene. Laker coach, Mike D’Antoni, resigns. D’Antoni made the announcement last night, but it did not come as a surprise. D’Antoni is not a favorite of the fans nor some long-time Laker supporters like, Magic Johnson. D’Antoni’s  two-season record with the Lakers has been poor at best. This year ,the Lakers ended the season with the worst record in the franchise’s history. D’Antoni shouldn’t get all the blame, the players and management have to share in that failure as well.

Apparently, D’Antoni reached an “impasse” with the Lakers when the team refused to pick up the option on his contract for the 2015-2016 season. The word is D’Antoni got a nice settlement. Now the door is open for the Lakers to begin to rebuilt with a new coach and hopefully some fresh hunger talent on the basketball court.
