Weather/Heat Wave—

If you’re out and about this weekend in the San Fernando Valley, the best place to hang out is under a shady umbrella, preferably with a tall cold drink. Upper 90s and triple digits expected today in the valleys and throughout the Southland. Bottom line, it’s going to be scorching in SoCal.
An extreme heat warning for SoCal is in effect through tomorrow, Sunday at 8 pm.
Yesterday, the high hit 96 in Burbank, 101 in Woodland Hills, 94 in Los Angeles, and even the beaches saw temperatures in the mid-80s. Weather watchers say it’s going to be even hotter just about everywhere locally today.
The weather service is predicting the heat wave will break somewhat by Tuesday, with a slight drop in temperatures. Thousands are expected to seek relief along the coast today; however, there are warnings about high surf and treacherous rip currents. So be careful out there.
