Lottery/Mega Millions—

No one scored the Mega Millions jackpot last night, but a Southland ticket holder came pretty close. A ticket sold in a Palmdale gas station and mini mart at 2680 East Palmdale Blvd matched five of the winning numbers, but missed the Mega. That ticket has a base value of $3,663,321, but because it included a multiplier of 2, it’s worth $7,326,642, according to the California Lottery. Also, a ticket with five winning numbers was sold in Arizona.
Here are the winning numbers for the July 21 draw: 25, 37, 59, 68, 70, and the Mega number was 10. The jackpot rolls over from $707 million to $743 million but is likely to go higher as lottery fever grows. Each play costs $5. Mega Millions can be played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The next draw is Friday, July 24.
