After weeks, if not months, of speculation, the nominations for the 98th Academy Awards are out. The reveal happened this morning, and Sinners, the southern-bluesy vampire epic with something to say about Black culture and history, really cleaned up. The box-office hit received the most nominations, 16, sealing its place in Oscar history.

The action-thriller-dark-comedy One Battle After Another has been battling Sinners for accolades this awards season. The film got 13 Academy Award nominations. As always, there were snubs and shockers.
