Future “Tonight Show” host, Jimmy Fallon, is getting some kudos today from an unlikely source. The “Late Night” host topped the list of most desirable celebrity neighbors for 2014. In the seventh annual Zillow Celebrity Neighbor survey, for the online real estate data company Zillow, Fallon got 11 percent of the favorite vote — mostly from young adults. For the Ipsos poll, a national sampling of 1,023 people over the age of 18 were quizzed earlier this month.
“It’s been a landmark year for Jimmy Fallon. He had his first baby, headlined a successful comedy tour and was named Jay Leno’s successor to ‘The Tonight Show.’ He carries a positive, funny and relatable vibe, which people would love to have in a neighbor,” said Zillow Chief Marketing Officer Amy Bohutinsky in the company blog.
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, tied with Jennifer Lawrence for second place with 10 per cent. Oh, 34 percent of those polled said “none of the above.”
Now Fallon lives on the East Coast, but the celebrity couple who led the most undesirable list — live right here in the Southland.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West bought a huge Mediterranean-style home in a gated neighborhood of Bel Air earlier this year. The home sits on a dead-end street with no immediate neighbors. The celebrity couple, who had a baby and got engaged in 2013, has not moved in yet and reportedly may be scouting other locations in SoCal.
Actually, “Kimye” made both lists. They topped the most undesirable celebrity neighbor in 2013, with 25 per cent of the vote. Still, it was not all bad news for the couple. Two percent of those polled said they would welcome “Kimye” as their neighbors in 2014.
“No one wants to live next door to a family who has cameras following them everywhere and seems to seek out as much attention as possible. However, with more than one-third of surveyed Americans preferring a non-celebrity neighbor, what remains clear is that many people don’t want to live next to any celebrity, regardless of why they are famous,” Bohutinsky said.
