Academy award winning actress Whoopi Goldberg has a new TV deal and it has nothing to do with her position on that lively morning talker, “The View.”  Goldberg’s production company, Whoopi Inc, has signed on to develop series and specials for the Science Channel and Investigation Discovery.

In a news release, Goldberg says the deal with Discovery Emerging Networks is a perfect fit, “… since I’m really curious about the world…”  Have no fear fans of “The View,” Whoopi has no plans to leave that show. The actress first joined Barbara Walters and the other chatty ladies more than a year ago.

Also, you might remember, Goldberg won the best supporting actress Oscar for her role in the 1990 movie, “Ghost.”  She has collected other awards as well including a Tony, an Emmy, and a Grammy. Goldberg’s company has produced several TV movies along with the successful Lifetime series, “Strong Medicine” which was on the air for six years.
