women's equality day 2016

Women’s Equality Day 2016. How far have we come? Not far enough, when women have to continue to fight for equal pay and equal rights. In 1971, the U.S. Congress designated August 26 as “Women’s Equality Day” to commemorate the 19th amendment to the constitution granting women the right to vote. Women have come a long way since this amendment was ratified in 1920, but still the battle for true equality goes on.
