A lot of chatter on the Internet  and elsewhere today about the passing of legendary film critic Roger Ebert. He possessed a sharp mind, quick wit, and a passion for movies and writing.  Ebert died yesterday in Chicago after a long battle with cancer. He was 70 and one of the world’s most influential film critics.

Ebert took on the job of a film critic at the Chicago Sun-Times in 1967. He still held that position when he died. In 1975, he won the first Pulitzer Prize for film criticism. Ebert became known to a wider audience, while appearing in a series of movie review TV shows — especially the ones with rival Chicago Tribune film critic, Gene Siskel.

Also, Ebert was the author of more than 15 books, and in his later years, embraced the online community and became a popular blogger. Even when I disagreed with him, I still enjoyed his movie reviews.
