The weather service says this is the beginning of a heat wave due to peak on Wednesday with triple digits in the valley.
The gusty winds, which kicked up over the weekend, have calmed down. However, the fire danger remains. A red flag warning went into effect for the valley at 10:17 a.m. today until 8 p.m. on Wednesday. This means low relative humidity, high temps, and strong winds at times.
A cooling trend could take hold by the end of the week for B-town and the rest of the Southland.
