Middle Class Tax Refund:

Millions of Californians are still waiting for that one-time refund to help deal with the rising costs of just about everything.  More than 15 million got the Middle Class Tax Refund by automatic deposit and debit cards. However, around three million payments could be in the pipeline

Also, some bad news. Scammers are targeting these refunds. The State Attorney General, Rob Bonta, issued a warning and some safety tips when the refunds started going out last October. Nevertheless, the number of victims is continuing to grow, especially those getting payments on debit cards. NBC4, LA Times

Burbank donut shop clerk helps nab robbery suspects:

Next week, two robbery suspects are headed to a Burbank court to face felony charges. Rashawn Taylor and Bernard Perry, both 27, were arrested in Moreno Valley on December 15. Taylor and Perry are accused of robbing the Donut Prince on Olive Avenue a week earlier. The suspects forced the clerk to hand over money from the cash register, according to a Burbank Police news release.

Luckily, the sharp clerk was able to provide officers with a description of the suspects and their vehicle, as well as surveillance video.  During the arrest, investigators say they found evidence linking the suspects to the Donut Prince robbery along with six stolen catalytic converters.

The suspects are due to appear in Burbank Municipal Court on January 9.
