Business/SAG-AFTRA Tentative Agreement—

Negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP hit the fast track and have resulted in a deal. In a joint statement posted on their websites, they announced a tentative agreement yesterday. Those contract talks began with a soft launch back in February and apparently got down to serious business last month.
No details just yet. However, we do know the negotiations involved TV/Theatrical Contracts covering motion pictures, scripted primetime dramatic television, streaming content and new media. Specifics are expected after a review and vote by the SAG-AFTRA National Board.
SAG-AFTRA represents more than 150,000 actors, announcers, broadcast journalists, dancers, DJs, news writers, news editors, program hosts, puppeteers, recording artists, singers, stunt performers, voiceover artists and other entertainment and media professionals. The studios are represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
