Get out the umbrellas, heat warning in Burbank and much of the Southland today

Excessive heat is blasting Burbank today, bringing out the umbrellas. Last Monday, folks here popped opened umbrellas to deal with lingering showers from what was left of tropical storm Hilary. More stormy weather possible in Burbank today

More cloudy and unstable weather in Burbank today. There’s a 40 percent chance of “showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11 a.m,” according to the National Weather Service. The humidity remains high. This morning, before 9 a.m., I was out walking and it felt like I was in a sauna. High today in the low 80s in the Media City.
