What a team! What a series! The Dodgers won the 2025 World Series and entered the history books. The boys in Dodger blue are the first team to win back-to-back World Series in 25 years. The pride of SoCal did it in a do-or-die game 7, with the kind of twists and turns one sees in a Hollywood movie script. It was the finale of an exciting World Series, which came down to the two teams tied at three games apiece.
The Blue Jays had home-field advantage with a packed stadium of fans in Toronto on Saturday; no matter, the Dodgers fought like true champions. In the top of the ninth inning, the Blue Jays were leading by one point, and Blue Jay fans started to think victory was just around the corner. It was not to be. The Dodgers’ Miguel Rojas tied the game, 4-to-4, with a stunning home run. Then came Will Smith’s home run in the 11th inning, and some terrific pitching by Yoshinobu Yamamoto to close out the game. The Dodgers won 5-4. Yamamoto was named MVP.
Here are some of the highlights from the game and Saturday’s celebration.
