Dodgers drama: Frank McCourt still swinging

Embattled Dodger owner, Frank McCourt, is still fighting to keep control of the team. Yesterday, the Dodgers filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. Today McCourt is trying to wrangle enough money to pay the team’s bills. More on McCourt’s  dilemma and an upcoming hearing in U.S. bankruptcy court on the Los Angeles Times website.

“Cars 2” a runaway winner at the box office

The final box office numbers for the weekend are out today. The animated sequel, “Cars 2” leads the pack with a debut of $66 million winning bragging rights as the number one film in the country. Mega Millions jackpot balloons to $88 million

The Mega Millions jackpot is getting closer to that $100 million mark. No one got all of the winning numbers right in last Friday’s draw. Peter Falk 1927 — 2011

Peter Falk, who became a television icon playing the disheveled, quirky, but brilliant  detective, Lieutenant Columbo, died today at the age of 83. Falk’s acting career span 50 years and included two Oscar nominations. The Los Angeles Times has photos and a couple of nice  pieces about Falk on its site.
