Shirley Temple Black, the precocious and extremely talented tap-dancing child star of the Depression years who later became a diplomat under several U.S. presidents, has died. The salaries and pensions of many of the city, county, and state employees in the Golden State for 2011 and 2012 are listed.  Some are not on the site for various reasons. Earthquake shakes up the Southland today

Did you feel it? The Southland got hit with an earthquake this morning at 10:13 a.m. Apparently it was center  four miles south-southwest of Glendale and  two miles east-southeast of Hollywood, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.  They say it measured 3.0. Celebrities joined family and friends for a private funeral service in New York yesterday for acclaimed actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman.
