Photo Gallery: National Night Out Burbank PD parking lot

The anti-crime event, National Night Out, was celebrated in the Media City with a bash at Burbank Police Headquarters as well as block parties in a number of neighborhoods last night. Freelance photographer, Greg Reyna, shot these pictures of the BPD bash held in the back parking lot of the facility on Tuesday August 5.

Photo Gallery: Another protest at Burbank Hobby Lobby

Protesters returned to the Burbank Hobby Lobby today.  They waved protest signs showing disdain for the national craft and home decor chain and the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling allowing that family owned corporation to opt out of covering certain female contraceptives in the employee health insurance plan for religious reasons. Here are some pictures of  today’s demonstration from photographer, Greg Reyna. […]

Partly cloudy skies and cool temps in Burbank

Lots of clouds in the sky along with sunshine and cool temperatures in Burbank. It’s a little breezy, too. A dramatic change from last Tuesday, when we were in the middle of a spring heat wave and the temperatures were in the 90s by noon. Today we’ll be lucky to reach the low 70s. It’s designed for a number of functions […]

A wet system apparently swept through overnight leaving behind cool temps, light winds, some clouds, but mostly sunshine. A wonderful spring day for a parade. Crowds of Burbank fans lined the avenue to watch a celebration of the city. More […]

Easter egg hunts in Burbank

A lot folks were out at the Easter egg hunts in Burbank.  The hunts were the big draw at the Spring Egg-Stravaganza this morning. The event was held in McCambridge Park 1515 North Glenoaks Boulevard. Overall, the crowds did not appear to be as large as they were at the Spring Egg-Stravaganza last year. This may be due to the new rules or […]

Update on the redo of that Taco Bell in Burbank

A thriving Taco Bell once stood at 2425 West Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank. What stands there now amounts to three bare bones wall frames — and little else. It’s an eye catcher. An attention grabber. I walked by the site yesterday and was shocked at how the Taco Bell had been reduced to an unrecognizable shell. Last week, I was […]
